Well, it is almost the end of 2007. This year has been a hum dinger for most everyone I know.
Some highlights of 2007 that are not well known.
They invented a computer monitor the size of a penny. They mount the monitor on top of a penny and drop it in the water to check the fish out.
The mechanical arm. It is attached to a human and it is hooked up to the brain and allows the person to give it commands just through thought.
A shirt that changes colors. It is a large LED, so in the morning you can wear stripes and at night it can turn into polka dots, without even changing your shirt.
Way to go 2007…

Happy Christmas to everyone.

Julie tagged me for a meme
Here are rules…
Please share 12 of your favorite Christmas things: they can be memories, traditions, songs, presents, beliefs, whatever it is about this season that you love.Send it to 12 people, and be sure to link to them so that everyone can enjoy the many variations!
1. We always do something special every year for someone else. I started this tradition so the girls know that Christmas is more than just a me-me thing for them. My favorite memory of this tradition was the year Big Sis and Chee dressed up like Santa and an Elf and went to a low income disabled children day care and the kids got to visit with Shanta and Chee Elf gave them a gift.
2. Baking one of my favorite things, so Christmas is an excellent excuse to bake and eat!!
3. Deciding the Christmas theme for the home decorations and putting up the tree. This is solo project; sometimes I have an audience with comments, but never any decorator helpers.
4. Watching sappy Christmas movies and specials on TV. I love the older Any Williams specials, it reminds of pleasant childhood memories.
5. That feeling you get before Christmas when you know that you don’t have to go to work or school.
6. Receiving and opening Christmas cards.
7. Christmas Eve we try to have a special dinner just the three of us, head out to see the fancy lights and later enjoy a Christmas story. (The girls think the Christmas story is lame, but I make them sit thru it and participate..)
8. Visiting old friends and catching up on all the going ons.
9. The ornament exchange I have every year with my dad. We always pick out the weirdest ornaments for each other.
10. Listening to Christmas music and making up new words for the song
11. On Christmas Eve watching Santa fill the stockings ;0)
12. Christmas dinner at my parent’s home. Every year is always non-tradition food that is soooo delicious
I’m supposed to tag 12 people to do this meme, but I’ll just say if there are 12 of you who like to do this, have fun and Happy Holidays.

Madonna showed up at a Manhattan Yoga studio. She joined in a class with 25 students. She started talking during the session and the teacher told her to please be quiet. She announces that she would like to talk to Yoga teacher, and went up to him and said out loud I want you to ask everyone to leave and for you to stay and continue to instruct me. The Yoga teacher promptly got up and asked his students to follow him to another studio and they left Madonna alone. She stayed in the studio and did her Yoga and when the next class came in she refused to leave.
I wonder what happens to people’s brain when they become famous? It must be some type of chemical imbalanced.
I remember years after Alanis Morissette climb to fame, she said she looked back at the stuff she did when she was at the height of her fame and she was shocked at how egotistical she was. She said she called Mother Theresa at some unholy hour of the mother just to chat.
I am always amazed at the stuff I hear about famous people, it sure is entertaining.

Today, I finally got caught up on the Holiday card stuff and boxing some of the gifts. Last Friday I went into Macy’s while waiting for Chee to get out of school and they were having a killer sale. On the sale rack it was 50% off and then take an extra 50% off. I went to each rack with an open mind and wallet. I tried on stuff that I would never have thought of wear because to the price. Nothing looked good. Don’t you just hate when the price is so unbelievably great and you cannot find a thing. I knew this girl who would go to sales like that and by stuff. She would store it in the trunk of her car and would try to give it to her co-workers. I asked her why she did not wear her finds and she said cause they don’t look good on me, but they price was something that she could not pass up. Now that is what I call generous.
The spirit of giving…

PIF (Pay It Forward) Pledge:
I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I don’t know what that gift will be yet and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but you will receive it within 365 days. That is my promise. The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.

Would you fall for this?
This man advertised that can do a health screen on any individual and if he finds any health issues he can cure you.
He has devised a system that will communicate with a satellite floating in earth orbit. This satellite will scan you while you sleep. It will give him feedback on any abnormalities in your body going on. He then will communicate with the satellite and channel satellite waves to cure the aliment.
People were so impressed that they send him money for this great medical wonder. He collected over $800.000, before he was caught and charge with fraud.
I think this would make a great Sci-fi movie, the satellite would malfunction from over use and these unsuspecting people would turn into morph beings that feed on stressed out human.

I have a lazy dog that has psych herself into getting carsick from the time she sees we are walking toward the car. She has a routine for her walks and if we go a different route she will just put the “brakes on” and we have to drag her along.
I have asked her many times if in her last life she was some Queen or President, and she just looks at me with those three black berries, (two eyes and a nose) and never replies.
We got a DVD on how to train your dog. I watched it once and did the rewind to reinforce this new knowledge. I have tried the technique that they showed for the basic sitting command; it does not work for her.
This dog has hard ears, she has to do things her own way.
My daughters are the same way, and my Mom would say I am too.
So my theory on this situation is the monkey see monkey do. If the daughters can be stubborn then the dog thinks that is the norm for behavior.
When the girls and the dog leave home, and I am old, I will sit back and remember this time. All I will remember is the good parts cause that is the way my memory works.
