I go for walks daily. I have noticing a lot of bees on the ground either dead or just in a state of shock. I am not a bee lover, but to notice so many of these little critters suffering like this makes me wonder what the heck is going on. This is what I found.

“In the US, bee keepers are experiencing unprecedented die offs of bees some losing as much as 80% of their colonies. Commercial beekeepers in 22 states have reported deaths of tens of thousands of honeybee colonies. So far the cause remains unexplained and somewhat mysterious. It is being called Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) and is causing agricultural honeybees nationwide to abandon their hives and disappear and raising worries about crops that need bees for pollination. It’s a kind of mass suicide in the bee world.”

“The U.S. Department of Agriculture reports that 27 states from New York to California are now affected by the bee mystery.
Beekeepers complained that the basic science of what is happening to the bees normal. Officials with the Department of Agriculture testified that they have collected samples of bees but they don’t have the money to process them.”

How much money would it take to study this Epidemic? May be as much as one shipment of ammunition to the Middle East? Or a week’s worth of frivolous dinners at the White House.

Of course things could always get worse.

Albert Einstein, quoted in Germany’s Der Spiegel, “if the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.”

Well that would sure halt the manufacturing of weapons of mass destruction.
