June 2007

Today the Mac stores are introducing the phone of the year, the new iphone.
What is so great about this phone, well it is a revolutionary mobile phone, a widescreen iPod, and the Internet in your pocket with best-ever applications on a mobile phone for email, web browsing and maps.  This little jewel cost as much as $599.00 and a $60.00 a month phone fee.
Here is the weird part; people have been lining up out side the Mac store since early Wednesday morning to buy this phone.  Oh but wait it does not stop there.  The first two people in line are willing to sell their spot in line for a couple of thousand.  That totally cracks me up.
All this hype for a phone!  Having a phone with you 24 –7 is so over-rated and most of the times really rude.

Oh shoot, I have no time.

Darn, I ran out of time.

Where does the time go?

I wish I had the time.

How much time does that take?

No time, no time.

Time is not my friend.

What is it about time these days? June seems like it just started and now we are on the last week. When I was a child time seemed to go by so slow. I remember counting the days until Christmas, vacation and birthday as each day passed by in slow motion.

I thought that maybe for children it is just naturally that way, but then my girls have always complained that they “did not have the time” through out the years.

So I got to thinking may be we are not aware that time has changed, that our concept of seconds, minutes or hours are really not the same seconds, minutes or hours as 100 years ago. Then it occurred to me that this is what Sci-Fi is made of. Some how the universe is playing with us like one of those exercise wheels in a guinea pig cage, the guinea pig hops on it and thinks it is going some place, but he remain in the same position.

Wait did you hear that? Is it the faint sound of the Outer Limits theme song.

But seriously does anyone feel like we live our lives in fast motion?

Oh, Got to go ran out of time…

A couple of weird facts…

The king of hearts is the only king without a moustache on a standard playing card!

There are no clocks in Las Vegas gambling casinos!

A sneeze travels out your mouth at over 100 m.p.h.

The worlds oldest piece of chewing gum is over 9000 years old

The Mona Lisa has no eyebrows. It was the fashion in Renaissance Florence to shave them off.

Have a happy wEiRd Wednesday!!!

We saw Masterpiece Theater’s interpretation of Queen Elizabeth 1. It was long and really rich with historical information. I picked up a few more facts about the great Virgin Queen. Women libbers unite, this was one woman who did proclaim, no man would ever rule over me. Wow, talk about a strong sense of independence.

Not being a historical person, I never knew that she spent sometime imprisoned in the Tower of London. She was released after the death of her older half sister’s death and took rein over England. While she was imprisoned only a few loyal people stood by her. After she took rein family and people came out of woodwork proclaiming their devotion and love for her. Throughout her rein there were only a few people who she trusted and as she lived a long life those people died along the way. So where am I going with this?

What is it about human nature that causes them to flock to leaders wether or not they like the person, on false pretense, kissing up just to get perks that come along with being acquainted with someone of power. There are times when I find myself doing just that, but then I realize what I am doing and then turn it down a couple of notches.

Do all species on the Earth have this pattern ingrained in their DNA? Is this some type of survival skill? This is what happens when I read a book or watch a movie. I pick up the oddest things and mull it over for a while. Have you ever noticed yourself doing this?

This Satuday we spent some time with little Genny from the block so these cartoons are dedicated to her. We had a lot of fun long walks, talks and enjoyments.
